starting stack 7k. 25 minutes blinds and 25/50 inte.
with the larger stacks this gave a more chance to play.
after the first hour, not really picking up any cards but getting an idea of the players on my table. All good players with the excetion of 2 and a few aggressive players, particularly a good aggressive dutch player to my right (perfect)he stole my blinds alot but I took alot more off him. for the first few hours I bounced between 5 and 8k. before loosing all but 2.3k to queens.
Then in the big blind I hit 7d6d, 5 callers I checked.
flop 5s 7c 9c I push for the remaining 2k.
action goes
fold, call, call, re-raise all in (great protection but I am behind)
Fold
call.
They are both flushing and I quadruple up.
I continue to play my strategy of tight agressive and build my stack up, without having to show my cards.
One which I rememeber was a min raise when the blinds were at 600/1200. one call.
I look at my cards and see pocket jacks. I push all in and one folds and the other debates and folds turning over ak.
It eventally moves down to the last 18 and I get moved onto a new table. I continued to keep my stack to just above the average stack keeping my strategy and hoping to double up.
again I was gaining respect
Move of the night.
blinds at 800/1600, early position raises to 4,200.
I am the only caller.
The flop comes 10, 7, 4 rainbow.
he checks and I push all my remaining 20k of chips in the pot. he is sat with 32k.
after a couple of minutes he folds and shows jj.
Good fold I state as I muck my ak. Phew.
I lost a stack when I get pocket nines with a flop of 7 8 q. and a player goes all in. It took a while and I folded, maybe I should have called, the other players on the table thought it was a good fold.
I was then at the position of less than 8 big blinds and was having to make a move.
I was sat with 14.5k bb had 13k. (short stacked he had previously called in first position with 10 7o and got a lucky 70. with the blinds at 1.5/3k I look down under the gun at pocket 2s and pushed all in. bb called with 10 8. caught an 8. I was out next hand in 10th.
Morls was even more unlucky when his aj all in pre flop lost to a8. (a terrible call)
Burnley joe was all in with ak and lost to queens out 17th.
Spurman finished 25th and
gary was out quite eary.
A very frustrating evening for all of us and shocked at the play of these crazy checz.

Tournament one update
5k starting Chips 20 mintue blinds starting at 25/50. 54 entries.
This setup didnt really fit into my strategy of the day which I had to change to play a more tight aggressive play. I started off not playing many hands trying to get a tight image but realised the standard was not good enough with too many fish.
First hand sitting in the small blind u get Kc 3c.
with a flop 6s 8c 10c, I check raise of 300, re-raise 800, I fold. then another re-raise to 1500.(first hand).It got check down to the river with a 9 on the turn. trip 8s won.
the next hand I got involved with was jd 8d (not the best, but one off the button)
the flop came js 8s 4c. I raise to 500, only under the gun called. the turn brings 7h. I bet 800 he calls. the river 3s. he checks, I check. he turns over Qs 2s for the flush. thinking to myself, I knew the last card was dangerous and I got away cheaply. and for the next 10 minutes I could see the guy was clearly gutted and pissed off at himself for not raising the river. But then I think to myself, this guy has just called with q 2 under the Gun. Now come on Guys......
Now I mentioned fish earlier. and I mentioned terrible play under the gun. So as blinds hit 50, 100, I call under the gun with the monster which is 6c 4c (my favourite hand, for the pure reason it can win me alot and lose me a little and its very lucky. Aimee hates it and my friends all are aware of me playing this).
Back to the hand in question. the button raises to 500, bb calls. Rosco sat with a monster can only call.
as the flop comes, 3 5 7 rainbow I start dancing on the table in a cow boy style, nobody notices and I check. the button raises 500 bb folds, and I move all in. the button is sat with 1125. he calls and turns over pocket kings. I apologise say its my favourite and and shake his hand. Ooops.
As the tournament went on I wasnt picking up many cards, a few all ins recieved no callers until I hit pocket 3s. now I made a huge mistake here, I got a read on the eventual callers, he was going to raise until the guy before him called. any at blinds 300/600 I went all in for 3k. one callers with 10s. the river gave me a flush and him at full house.
Roll on today for the 250 euro event with a slightly improved sructure.

Prague Palooza
Yesteday I arrived in Prague with My girlfriend Aimee to play in the Victor Chandler Palooza poker tournament at the speermint Casino. this consists of 3 tournaments with leader board status.
We arrived at our hotel at 10pm and met Graham (Morlspin) and his gordie mate Gary for a few drinks in the square. Later today will will meet up with Dan (Spurman), Burnley Joe and jon (Swampster) with his girlfriend
Today is the 100 Euro tournament. so good luck to all the guys.
I will send a progress report tommorrow.

6 final tables in a row
I've been on a bit of a roll at the moment on my live play. I have made and cashed in the last 6 tournament Ihave played. resulting in a 9th, 7th, 4th, 3rd, 2 second places and a win. the best result being a second place in the blackpool collecting 800 big ones. The run comes at a good time when I head to Prague to play poker.

What happends when you dont concentrate
Decided to play in the £20 Freezeout at the Grovenor in Leeds This afternoon.
I was under the the Gun on the Fifth Hand, This being the first hand I had played. sat with 7,8 spades I called and was Raised to 200 chips, everyone else folded. Flop 6, 10, j rainbow.
he raised 200. Turn 9
He raises 400, I raise 1000. he goes all in, I quickly call.
Yes he turns over QK,
I was Gutted I missed this and disappointed in my Self.

Live Poker today
After a Day off Yesterday a visit to the Casino is on the cards tonight. £25 Freezout at the Gala Casino in Leeds.

Virgin V-Points Freeroll
Decided to properly play in the Virgin Points freeroll and came through winning, putting myself 2nd in the Punters lounge hall of Fame.
